Self–defence Training at Somerset Stav Martial Arts

Unarmed Close Quarter Combat Class

CQC Training

with Graham Butcher

Tuesdays 7 – 8 pm

The CQC class is open to anyone from 8 years and upwards. The class focuses on unarmed training but wooden knives and batons are used as attacking weapons to teach defence against close quarter weapons. The class teaches practical self–defence although the skills learnt will go well beyond the requirements for everyday self–protection. The emphasis will of course be on safety and control.

Training includes:

  • Two person contact training for sensitivity and awareness
  • Five principles drills
  • Animal exercises
